Peace Out

June 10, 2010

It’s that time of year again. Peace in the Park, and the weather’s not looking too promising, but I could still be wrong Sheffield, I could still be wrong. Last year it rained a little but much fun was still had.

Now a modern Sheffield tradition, PitP has changed its home several times, from Endcliffe Park to the Sharrow Cemetery, but now finds itself in the Ponderosa park in Upperthorpe/Netherthorpe. This site is big enough now for several tents and a stage, and some stalls.

No doubt Komal and I will meet up and sample some delectations for review, and Aurore will be able to tell us about her first ever PitP.

My top acts not to be missed on Saturday are The Ruby Kid and The Renegade Brass Band on the Other Stage, and Sheffield’s own pirate booty, The Molly Rogers on the Community Stage, Burleskimo and Jungle Lion on the Main Stage.

The festival is run by a dedicated team of volunteer staff who fundraise all year long to put the event on, and Peace In The Park is rapidly becoming one of Sheffield’s best promotion labels throughout the year for alternative and interesting nights out.

So get yourself down and have a great, free day out. Bring something to sit on, and grab your beers from the Infirmary Road Tesco. Sorted!

And if you don’t know where it is, here’s a clue…
