The Unpredictable Weather…

April 26, 2010

Whilst Sheffield folk often mock larger and more brash neighbour over the pennines (that’s Manchester, by the way) for their unfair share of precipitation, like the rest of the UK we have rather unpredictable weather patterns.

Today I went to the Botanical Gardens for a picnic with a friend and her children (aged 2, 4, and 10). We had a picnic, played some football, blew some bubbles, the usual. It was delightful and very warm in the sun…

…then the clouds came over. It looked like it might rain a bit so we packed up and took a trip to the bear pit. Then it started raining, more and more and more.

Did anyone else get soaked today? The short walk from the bear hit to Ecclesall Road rendered us soaked to the skin, and whacking up the radiators the dry all of our clothes. Admittedly it was made much longer by a bit of a slowcoach little boy holding my hand, but still. Torrential showers!
